Penta is one of Maria Renard's Birds in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls. He is a Konami penguin mascot character. He was the protagonist of the Antarctic Adventure series and also appeared in the first Parodius game.

- The ending for the first Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls trailer features Maria Renard singing with several cartoonish penguins dancing along, including Penta, referring to the MSX game Penguin Adventure, where after beating the Freezaurus, they execute a similar dance.
- Penta makes a cameo as a transportation device operator in Konami Wai Wai World, which also features a playable Simon (Belmont).
- He is a playable character in the Konami mahjong game Hai no Majutsushi, which also features a playable Simon Belmont.
- He makes a brief cameo in Wai Wai World 2: SOS!! Parsley Castle, where the protagonist, Rickle, can transform into a Simon Belmont-like character.
- Penta's son, Pentarō, appears as a playable character in Krazy Kart Racing, which also features a playable Dracula.
