Step Attack is a thrusting attack that is performed while dashing forward. It is the normal special attack for Great Swords in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and Dagger-type weapons that are not Short Swords for Soma Cruz or Jonathan Morris in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin, and Castlevania: Harmony of Despair.
In Lament of Innocence. the Step Attack allows Leon to perform an attack while using the Quick Step. It is learned after defeating 40 enemies and performing the Quick Step at least 100 times.
In Grimoire of Souls, Step Attack is a Unique Action. By dashing and following up with an attack, Alucard can lunge into a powerful thrust attack. This can quickly close the gap between him and an enemy behind or in front of him and lead into a combo attack.
