Transylvanian Wilds is commonly called the forest stage of Super Castlevania IV; however, it consists of much more. It's made up of three distinct areas: the Forest, the Swamp and the Aqueduct.
Sub-stages
- 2-1: Forest - Includes lots of old tombstones, a rocky ditch and Dracula's Castle off in the distance.
- 2-2: Swamp - This version of the swamps has the requisite mud and some suspension bridges.
- 2-3: Aqueduct - Features running water that periodically switches directions.

Notes
- The castle in 2-1 appears more like a model of Dracula's Castle due to is being placed on the 'nearest' background layer instead of on a 'lower' layer.
- The composition of 2-1 brings to mind Haunted Castle Stage 1 which is a cemetery stage that leads from a city into a forest.
- After examining the graphics used in the three sub-stages there is some evidence that they are not in the order they were originally intended to be in.
- Curiously, this stage's boss, Medusa, resides in sub-stage 2-2 instead of 2-3.
- 2-1 and the beginning of 2-3 share stone, tree trunk, leaf, and grass tiles which suggests one leads into the other.
- 2-3 and 2-2 also share the same stone graphics as 2-1, however, 2-2 uses them in a manner that is more consistent with 2-3.
- Furthermore, however unlikely, it is also possible that 5-1 may have been an alternate area leading from 2-3 sharing some similar stone graphics in a different palette.
- However, 5-1 has several wooden posts that are reminiscent of those in 2-2 as well.
