Other appearances[]
The design of the entrance section of this level was directly modeled after Block 8 from Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse, featuring the same female statues, wall patterns and curtains. A possible explanation for this similarity could be because Nintendo had still not provided the team with development kits for their upcoming console, so they had to start designing the prototype on NES hardware.[2] Additionally, it is known that the teams for both Dracula's Curse and Super Castlevania IV worked alongside and as a result they shared many ideas.
The second section corresponds with the final stretch in the same Dracula's Curse block. In that stage, the stairs collapsed underfoot. In this game, the stairs have already collapsed, which requires jumping over chandeliers to cross. A similar situation was later encountered in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 in Bernhard's Wing.
