Sweet

Sweets are a kind of food that is high in sugar. Sweets were first introduced in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood as health replenishing items that Maria Renard would obtain instead of the normal meat that Richter Belmont would use.

Sweets returned in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and later games. In the first, they are the second lowest health type of HP replenishing items. They give more health than Fruit and less health than normal entrees.

In Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, sweets are distinguished from other food items in that they always replenish an equal amount of HP and MP. Four kinds of sweets were added to this game which did not appear in any previous game, each with their own characteristic : Licorice recovers the least amount of HP/MP and tend to trade LCK for INT. Crullers recover more HP/MP, Donuts even more, and Mousse Cakes recover the most. Each of these last three types also boosts some INT along with some other statistic, depending on its "flavor". Strawberry/berry flavored items boost LCK, Chocolate boosts CON, Green Tea and Mango boosts MND, and Mint boosts LCK and MND. Three cream-based items that appeared in previous games also appear which boost INT and/or LCK, including the Cream Puff, Pudding, and Tiramisu.
