The Terrace is the twelfth area Simon explores in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate, and the seventh area Alucard explores in his journey.
Overview[]
Simon's journey[]
The castle's large porch, its decayed foliage on display, is home to harpy leaders, who waste no time getting up close and personal. After the initial greeting party has been killed off, Simon will ride a large elevator up to the Terrace's second floor, where he'll encounter more of the same.
With no more in the way of obstacle, he'll exit left into the next area. While small in structure, the Terrace is a nice spot to reenter again and again in lust of the precious experience that will make the difference when challenging the upcoming bosses.
Alucard's journey[]
The Terrace is at first the static, largely uninteresting area traversed by Simon, but the calm atmosphere is there only to lull you into a false sense of security. When Alucard activates the elevator, that is, his trip upward will be suddenly, violently interrupted by the animalistic Reaver, which will destroy the device and force another insane boss battle.
The demon makes a full appearance by crashing down on top of the elevator trying to eat Alucard, after the battle it is shown that a huge hole as been made leading to the clock room as if it dug it's way through area to area. During the battle, Alucard pulls a object on the ceiling that releases a acid-like liquid and injures the Reaver.
The violent clash will level what's left of the area but earn Alucard the Shadow Claws, which he can then use to instead climb his way up to the exit on the left.
Before Alucard first came to this area, Simon entered this area through a hole in front of where Alucard comes in. There is no possible explanation for how the hole was quickly repaired/covered up. Eventually, if Alucard successfully taken the elevator, he would have been following Simon's trail.
