- — Annette
The Natural Order is the fifth episode of the first season, and the 5th episode overall, of Netflix's original series, Castlevania: Nocturne.
Synopsis[]
- Drolta makes a persuasive pitch to Olrox, and Annette encounters an old enemy. Revelations shed new light on Maria and Richter's family histories.
Plot[]
Drolta persuades Olrox to ally with Erzsebet, and explains that Erzsebet now has the godly ability to block out the sun, allowing vampires to rule the earth. Enraged at Richter's cowardice, Annette tracks down Vaublanc and interrogates him before killing him. Emmanuel visits Tera and Maria, and admits his role as Forgemaster and ally of Erzsebet, out of fear for preserving the Church and Christianity against the larger threat of the violent atheism of the revolutionaries. In a heated exchange with Tera, Emmanuel reveals himself to be Maria's father, shocking and angering Maria. Richter, having fled, encounters an old man, who reveals himself to be Juste Belmont, Richter's grandfather.

- – Annette: "I'm not the one in the cage."
- – Vaublanc: "I'm sure you wake up some mornings with the smell of burnt sugar in the back of your throat and forget you ever left. That's because you're not free where it matters."
- – Annette: "You're the one with a brand on your forehead."
- – Vaublanc: "That is a symbol of loyalty to my mistress."
- – Annette: "Erzsebet Báthory."
- – Vaublanc: "You're not fit to say her name! How long were you a slave? Fifteen years More? Born in chains, to a woman in chains. Some people look backwards and forwards, and all they see are slaves. You, your people, my property."
- – Annette: "What's that got to do with Erzsebet?"
- – Vaublanc: "She'll restore the world to its natural order. Immortals, kings, humans, peasants, slaves. You"
- – Annette: "How can she do that? She's just a vampire."
- – Vaublanc: "Erzsebet is a goddess! She drank the blood of Sekhmet."
- – Annette: "The Egyptian goddess."
- – Vaublanc: "Yes. Sekhmet is the daughter of Ra. A lioness. Her breath is like the desert wind. We were told there would be signs. Disorder, slave uprisings, war. We were told to view these as herald. Erzsebet is coming with all of Sekhmet's power, to restore all things"
- – Annette: "What does that mean?"
- – Vaublanc: "It means you can kill me, but Erzsebet will never be defeated. She will come with eternal night. She will destroy and everyone and everything you love."

- – The Abbot: "If you hadn't met me, we wouldn't have Maria."
- – Maria Renard: (Dropping the knife as she just now found out that man she was against is her father. Tears welled up from her eyes) "You said my father was dead."
- – Tera: (Sighs) "To protect you." (Maria run out of the house in tears)
