Tonitrus is a spell that generates a Lightning Orb, which then blasts electricity upward and then targets the nearest enemy. It is cast by a Vol Fulgur glyph in Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia and by a Fulgur glyph in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair.

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia[]
This spell's glyph is known as Vol Fulgur in English and Vol Tonitrus in Japanese in Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, despite being the first encountered Fulgur glyph in the game (the normally more powerful "Vol" version of any glyph is normally obtained after the base version). It is found very early in the game in Minera Prison Island. This spell can also power machines. The glyph can perform Fulgur Glyph Unions.
Castlevania: Harmony of Despair[]
Since there are no other Fulgur glyphs in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, this spell's glyph is called Fulgur in English and Tonitrus glyph in Japanese.
Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls[]
Tonitrus is the Weapon Skill for the Deus Tonitrus Lance Glyph in both English and Japanese in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls. The lightning bolt emanates from the tip of the lance in this game.
