A Triple Axe (unofficial name) is an Axe attack that involves three axes thrown in rapid succession or at the same time. The type of throw may vary.
Attack types[]
Triple Shot[]
An Axe may be powered up in some cases that allows three axes to be in play at the same time, often after collecting a Triple Shot, which usually follows collecting a Double Shot. Each Axe is thrown separately and have their own costs in these cases.
Special Attack[]
The special attack for the Axe in Castlevania: Bloodlines involves three axes thrown in a unique pattern. They are thrown straightforward at different levels, one at knee level, another at head level, and another above head level, at different distances, with the lower ones further out than the upper ones. They spin stationary for a while, then charge forward again, with the higher ones moving faster than the lower ones.
Simultaneous arc throws[]
Three axes could be thrown in an arc pattern simultaneously for the first time by Maria Renard in the Sega Saturn version of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The Retro Axe (R. Axe) and Retro Axe-Man (R. Axe-Man) Soul found in Castlevania: Harmony of Despair can be upgraded to throw three axes.
