A Type A Axe attack (as defined in Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls) involves throwing an Axe in an upward arc trajectory. This is the first type of axe attack as performed by Simon Belmont in the original Castlevania game and is the normal attack for Axe Sub-Weapon in most 2D games and some 3D games. It is usually thrown at about 60 degrees, though it may be much lower, such as is the case for Castlevania: Order of Shadows. Some Axe Armors also occasionally throw their axes in this manner.
