The Unholy Church is a location in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate. It is the second area Trevor explores in the game.

Overview[]

The entrance leads into this area, whose pews, pillars and sacristy once served as ornaments for the dark forces and their sacrilegious rituals. Trevor encounters no resistance as he approaches the altar, where he will acquire the new Boomerang Sub-Weapon. A cutscene marking this acquisition also introduces a new enemy, the Giant Bat.

After defeating the swarm, another cutscene shows the final bat hurled into a nearby balcony, causing its collapse upon impact and granting Trevor access to the Church's upper level. From there, he must grapple across chandeliers and climb toward the ceiling. On the rightthere is a crank wheel that controls the central chandelier, which by a series of quick wheel-turns can be dropped to the floor below. The resulting impact cracks the foundation, opening the path to the Crypt.

With the arrival of the vampires, the bats accustomed to the darkness and putrefaction of the lower sections of the castle, began to feed on the blood that their new masters offered them. Quickly, these tiny, defenseless creatures grew disproportionately and became dangerous predators, devouring creatures that had once preyed upon them. Weak: Boomerang

  Secondary Weapon - Trevor
[edit]
Made from three blades joined together with a small capsule of Holy Water in its center, this church relic is highly accurate and will stick unerringly into a target and then inflict a 'Holy Light' explosion. Boomerangs that do not find an enemy will return to Trevor's hand.

This redesign of the classic boomerang has an explosive capsule in the center that activates shortly after impact with the target causing damage over time. In addition to its brutal attacking force, the edges have been charmed to return to the hands of the thrower automatically (from the Mirror of Fate HD info desc).

Consume: 1 Ammo Heart
Special: The 'Charged' secondary attack charged boomerang will explode with massive power and cause much greater damage.

[edit]
Damn the beasts that have desecrated the sanctity of this church. Not satisfied with destroying the paintings, burning the pews and hacking the statues, they have replaced the figure of the holy cross with a blasphemy. By my knightly honor, I swear I will rid this place of all evil. Find: Unholy Church
