Vibhuti is a sub-weapon in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It is very similar to Holy Water in utility; whereas Holy Water travels forward on the ground, Vibhuti ashes remain in place and do constant damage (much like Holy Water does in games preceding Rondo of Blood).
Richter's item crash produces a constant vertical cloud of ashes, greatly damaging anything above him.
Origins[]
The Vibhuti is based on the Hindu Vibhuti, which are blessed, scented ashes of the dead (not necessarily human). Vibhuti receptacles are worn for prayer and blessing, and ingesting the ashes is said to cure a variety of ailments. Because of these parallels, Vibhuti is often considered the Hindu equivalent of Holy Water.
