The Viking Helmet is a horned helmet often used by the Vikings in Castlevania.
Game specific information[]
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance[]
In Harmony of Dissonance, It gives more Defense than any other helmet, granting DEF +27. This is one more than a Steel Helmet, but one less than a Gold Headband.
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin[]
In Portrait of Ruin, it's the first helmet Jonathan can wear that gives both a DEF boost (+4) and a STR boost (+3). It's generally more useful than an Iron Helmet (just DEF +5), but less effective than the Attica Helmet (DEF + 7, STR +5). It's also one net attribute point less than a Shogun Helmet (DEF +10, STR +3, but INT -5).
Availability[]
The Viking Helmet is first available at Vincent's shop at a cost of 4,000 Gold, purchasable only after defeating Stella in the Tower of Death.
Another Viking Helmet lies in a secret room near the middle-left part of the large waterwheel tower that leads to the Forest of Doom's painting. The breakable wall to access it is just a floor above from where a Halberd is found.

Trivia[]
- There's no evidence that Vikings used horned helmets in battle, although it's possible that horned head dresses were used in ritual contexts. The horned and winged helmets associated with the Vikings in popular mythology were an invention of 19th century Romanticism.
- The Skeleton Rib and Throw Master wear viking helms.
