Giant sea dwelling dragon-like beasts. The first such creatures appeared as an incarnation of the Greek mythological beast Hydra, which had several heads. It was called the Water Dragons in Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse and then Orphic Vipers in Super Castlevania IV.
The Orphic Vipers wave all around and attack in their own ways: One breathes a short-ranged flame, and the other spits three-directional fireballs
A single headed Serpent appeared in Castlevania: Rondo of Blood as the harder alternative to the first boss of the game. A version of this creature with arms appeared as the first boss of Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness. This Water Dragon also made an appearance in Castlevania: The Arcade.
An icy water dragon called Rahab first appeared in Boku Dracula-Kun. It was later mentioned in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, where the Icebrand sword was referred to as Rahab's Sword in Japan. In Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin it's also referred as Rahab's Sword, and it would be called the same in Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. The great beast made its second boss appearance as a more fish-like creature in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. Certain attacks would cause a brittle ice bridge over the surface from which one could walk on.
